Well I bought the one I was on about (1992 bronze 200TDI 5 door) and the seats are missing but mounts/belts still there, so I’m after a beige set!
Also a few other niggles
-central locking (lazy motors, stuck locks)
-gearshift bias spring broken I think (difficult to get into 3rd/4th), looks like an easy fix
-heater fan inoperative- hoping this is a relay job so dash doesn’t have to come out

A few other minor things but overall I’m delighted. How do you post pics on forum?

Very nice, welcome to the 200Tdi club :)

Heater fan, check the fuse, if it's blown it will be the motor has worn out the bushings and stalls itself leading to the fuse blowing, if the fuse is in tact then it could be the resistor pack, all of which need the dash pulled to get to as it is in the heart of the dash and the first thing to be fitted when they built the car.

Bias spring is usually just the plate broken off, but at their age you might as well bet two new springs and a new plate an replace the lot, not expensive at all.

Pictures use the "upload a file" button on the lower left corner of the post box.

Ah thanks, got the upload button- how do you put pic in post?
Also should mine have remote central locking? Didn’t get a remote with it.

Press the "upload a file" button, a new window will pop up with "choose a file" then it will open your files on your phone/laptop/google drive then double click the picture you want and it will load it, click full image and we can see it all big and clear.

Central locking on a 200Tdi was an option some were key operated some remote, you can replace the whole lot for less than £30 with an aftermarket set up, takes a couple of hours to do.

Aha that worked! Here it is in its bronze-beige glory!

Will look into an aftermarket central locking system- have fitted them to cars before so shouldn’t be too bad.

If you pull the dash for the blower motor, take the heater unit and sort it, back flush heater matrix and seal blower box and flappy flaps ...

Also check for water ingress at footwell half way up bulkhead ... there's a panel frame strut that collects mud and rots thru ...
