Well thanks for that, now I can tell the teenage freeloader that the answer to their question is NO. There are NO events for you. You have done me a great service Sir and no doubt saved me an absolute fortune.

You can get away with Holymoorside near chesterfield. Also Pilsley near chesterfield. You could find a pay and play day without marshals (small sites are usually best) and just switch drivers. They shouldn't mind if you're sensible. I still don't have a license either.

Bad idea and by the way i think you'll find that holymoorside and pilsley will be changing there rules shortly making it a requirement for the driver to hold a licence.
Thankfully making it safer for everyone that uses the sites mentioned above.

Safest bet is wait till you have a licence / insurance because if you had a accident and hurt someone how would you feel, all pay n plays should ban people from driving on there sites without holding the correct licence. Im just glad the guys at holymoorside / pilsley / blackhills have introduced the new rules.

Ok so I have a license but cannot afford to insure my landy. Can I use it at pay and play sites. I'm 17 and will driver properly and not like a nutter.

Fearne, as you have probably realised about half of the people on here want to see it made so that it is impossible for normal and sensible people to have fun just because they don't have a license. Fortunately, the other half like to see young people interested in machines and gaining experience and skills. I know I'm a better driver than many people I've seen at pay n play days and you will soon realise that a lot of people act like idiots, regardless of whether they have a license or not. Sorry I'm telling you things you already know but just ignore other people and drive in a way you know you should. Don't let people talk you into doing stupid things.

Your choice at the end of the day but in my own opinion its a legal requirement to hold a licence and insurance to drive so why so you be exempt on a pay n play, even if you do drive safe, im just glad our local sites are changing rules for the better.

I go to pay and plays and I have no license. Don't let people spoil your fun, you're doing nothing illegal.

If i see you driving on holymoorside / plisley when im up there ill make it known you dont have a licence regardless of how well you think you drive, if you wanna gain experience then do it on a piece of land where your not near others at the end of the day you shouldnt be driving full stop.

And that would be extremely petty wouldn't it. I'm sure I could find a fault on your car that would be an MOT fail after an event. If everyone reported every fault, there would be very few people left. What we do is about community and what you are saying would spoil that. Feel free to do that but don't be expecting a tow.

I'd also like to add that I've never once hidden the fact that I don't have a license and have, in fact, stated it on arrival at EVERY pay n play I've been to to the person in charge.

Dont need a tow pal been using that place for years even when you was still an itch in yours dads nutsack, and i dont care how petty it seems at the end of it all your too young to be behind the wheel and im glad the sites are now doing things to make it more difficult for you. And feel free to mot my landy whenever you like as im sure with your vast experience you pick up on lots of things but at the end of day whos holding a licence / insurance / current mot cert ? that will be me then :D

If you wanna learn that much buy some land or learn by watching others that have paid for the privilege to drive on and off road

Most experienced people want to get people involved in events. Thankfully everyone isn't as selfish as you or else you would soon run out of experience. If people are pushed away then once the older people stop with events there would be nobody left.
All I can say is Fearne, have fun getting involved the same as I do. Pm me if you want,

Not at all most of us take or kids with us therefore spawning the next generation of offroaders, its the idiots without licences / insurances making it worse and its not about being selfish its about being safe and legal.

You can't use the "legal" argument, there's nothing illegal about what I'm doing. So you wouldn't let your own kids drive? You can't learn from theory, we both know that. Sitting besides someone doesn't help in the slightest.
