i'm hoping so m8, doing a bit of research on the subject i'm tryin to suss out if that fuse is all a sealed unit with the positive batt cabling or weather it can be removed and a new fitted to existing cabling..?

Does your car have an explosive disconnect on the battery leads? That may have gone pop if you connected the leads direct to the battery instead of following jump start instructions..

explosive disconnect ???....can you elaborate on that

explosive disconnect ???....can you elaborate on that

Would have thought it was self explanatory. On some models there is an explosive disconnect link on the battery terminal. It disconnects the battery in case of an accident or misuse. With these fitted you DO NOT connect direct to the battery.

On the positive connection of the battery there is an explosive fuse that pops when there is an accident or incident it'll render the car unable to function and start in some cases.

indeed, can just replace that fuse on its own

plus if u have a multimeter and whilst the battery is disconnected can easily check if that fuse has blown

Plse let us know how u get on

All sorted and back to the way fings was b4 batt issue....i charged the batt and put it on as a process of elimination and ping all dash lights came on i left it for a min at pos 1 then cranked her up and....started first time as she always did....got her up to temp, everything working as it should....therefor some good lessons learned from you lads, i know my car a bit more an it just goes to show that the more you think about things the more our heads will complicate the issue....so a lesson for all i suppose is always keep it simple and always start with the basics....an next time i'll not reach for the jump leads as easily as i did....so some good learning over the last few day....i am now a very happy overfinch owner....:)

The black box is the pyro charge for battery disconnect.
