hi, can anyone help. i have recently sorted out my freelander but i notice that when in reverse she judders and seems like something doesn't like it? any ideas please
Andy
to do a check go around in a big circle backwards and slowly if it feels as though it is braking the your vcu needs looking at and if it is go to bells do not buy from landrover spare north east
what is it with the rear brakes that makes them bind? what can i do to prevent it happening. i have new brake shoes and fitting kit that i will put on today but is there anything i can do to prevent them grabbing in the future?
Cheers
Andy
ps wheres the best place to buy the blanking plate for the ird rear prop? are they available on here?
If the VCU has gone too stiff removing the prop will also remove the VCU. This will make the car front wheel drive only. And will basically get round the problem.
I bought my freelander with no prop on it and fixed all of the problem areas. I prefer to have 4wd as I think it drives better. It also could be considered a modification and as such your insurance company should be informed ( I didn't )
how difficult is it to remove the rear drive from the ird? is it a case of unbolting the 5 nuts holding the output shaft inplace and putting the blanking plate on then nuts done up?? or is it more sinister??

ps picked up a nice leather interior from GT4x4 breakers in Basildon, they are really helpful!!!!!
