Well i have just completed my Ace removal and I am happy with the results.
The vehicle is due an mot on Tuesday but as a result of replacing the system the amber ace light is visible,my question is will this impede the mot or is there a way to remove the light other than using a diagnostic tool.
I would also like to thank forum members for great advice on this project.

you dont have to be so happy that you "downgraded" a well equipped car and ruined an expensive and well engineered system;) ...as about the light i dunno about MOT but you can shut it off by bridging pins 28 with 36 in the ACE ECUs plug, pin disposals attached(concentrate to not mix pins)...and dont touch ACE related fuse cos removing a fuse will bring the light on not off

Hey SF....I want you to move next door to me. Then I'll never have to worry about electrical gremlins ever again..;)
