Some interesting comments. So far it seems like the p38 is the favourite rr to have. The one that looks like a Freelander...

...and has a vcu at the heart of its transmission. Just like a Freelander 1. :)
Another vote for the P38, I had a 4.6 for 4 and a half years, best vehicle I ever owned, will have another in a heartbeat, when I can afford it, another 4.6 naturally:)

Yes that is true however the VCU and T/B in the P38 doesn't fall apart ;)

And to say a P38 looks like a Freelander you're wrong if it did indeed look like a freelander "which it doesn't" it would be the other way around as the P38 came first ;)

And if the Freelander looked like a P38 it would improve the freelanders desirability no end, :D

And a P38 looks like a London cab
A Classic has a style all of it's own & when it comes to simplicity a pre '89 has just one ECU, how many has a p38?
My local garage loves working on my '87, such a nice change from laptop technology.
Ok it's not the fastest LR or the most economical, it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it & depreciation is zero ... in fact quite the opposite.
