Hi guys,

In my manual disco 2, if I stay in a low gear (e.g. 3rd at around 2000-2500rpm) while climbing a steepish hill, the car will occasionally start jerking. However, as soon as I drop it into a higher gear it's absolutely fine except it feels like I'm labouring the engine and I don't get the adequate acceleration as a result of being in a higher gear.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I've just taken it on a dual carriageway and it seems to happen in any gear whenever it reaches 2500rpm. It doesn't want to go over 2500rpm either except when stationary. Does this suggest anything?

And have a good look at the modulator hoses as they often split, mine did and was very hard to spot.

As I said, my personal suspect is that the arm itself is seized on the side of the turbo wastegate assembly. Which requires no new parts ;-)

Check that first if you havent yet!

If it turns out that the arm isnt seized but the modulator is dead, here's the info you need to change it:

But the arm seizing is quite likely, and an easy fix - move it about, lubricate it, and job done!
