I did it recently whilst trying to locate what turned out to be a VCU bearing .I saw 30 on the speedo but just as long as you take time to ensure all is secure and stable it will be OK.
After failing to find it I took it to a friend of mines garage where we put it on the lift and did the same only getting it up to 50 .

If your going to do it just be very carefull!!!!
, ive seen it go wrong with a TR6, looked like it was sound and the torque wobble off the engine unsettled the stands and it slipped.
Very lucky nobody hurt and (appeared) undamaged.
Also running transmission unloaded is supposed to be bad practice, got told by my old boss that diffs dont like it especially.
