ok, i thought this evening i would fit one and light permitting both of the jackable sills to my 90.

i managed to take/smash/trash the sills off it... it took an 1hr. only to find that the lug (i dont know what its called) on the drivers side is the same diameter as that of the rock sliders! the passenger side looks bigger and may fit. but i cant just have one fitted. that would be ****.

do they come in diff sizes? does these lugs often rot and need new ones welded? i think is maybe whats happened, but im not sure.

can anyone recommend anything? or am i just going to have to refit the original sills and sell the sliders on ebay?

hope not, i really wanted them on.

cheers

Are you talking about the bore of the outrigger? If you are are you sure it hasn't coroded and just needs a good belting with a nammer. (watch you don't distort it though).

yer, that must be it... just behind the fuel tank. no it doesnt look coroded. it is the exact same thickness and diameter as the sliders... the otherside looks a little corroded and will prob fit. bit the drivers side looks like a no no. do these parts get repalced often?

i havent taken off the passenger side sill yet because i dont see the point if i can only fit one.

how difficult would it be to get this outrigger off and another (original diameter) welded on? and how much £££? yella?

ive had an idea!

how about i get the post hacked off the sill and a smaller diameter pipe welded in its place. that way it will be customised to fit the drivers side outrigger lug.

does this sound practical? can anyone forsee any problems with my bodge job?

also, go i need any extra fittings to allow the sills to be bolted to the bulkhead. or just the original fixtures?

cheers,

Never tried fitting jackables to a 110, so can only speak for a 90. I've made 4 sets in the past, and discovered that no matter how accurate the jig is, every landy is different.

The tube into the rear jacking point is not a problem, it is the distance to the front bulkhead that varies. To combat this, I use a single piece of 5mm plate welded on 1027mm from the centreline of the jacking tube. Grind 5mm off the top of the plate to allow for clearance from the floor. This fits TD300's perfectly, with a bit of a gap on older 90's.

Will send you a PDF of the plans I use if you PM me.
