That look great mate, im sure you'll spend many a happy hour with it. :)

Is it definitely a 200tdi? For some reason i always thought the snorkels were on the other side for the 200. Maybe others can set me straight on that?

yes the turbo is on the other side on the 200tdi

Is the snorkel connected up?

200tdi 1993, 76000miles, recon disco box, waxoyled, 4" lift, 33" kumoh muds, 300 tdi axles, discs all round, respray, recon engine, all underbody protection done, all new lights all round, bucket seats :)

What ye think???

did you buy it in the UK then?

It's strangely appealing and a great price considering that I just paid £3,000 for a 1992 110 200Tdi with 130,000 on the clock and no mods whatsoever.

First refusal here please.

your dead right mundungs, it should be on the other side, its piped and connected alright but its not done as well as i would like, to be honest, so one of the first jobs will be to fix that, first off ill be looking into some sort of (non imposing) bonnet scoop as there is n oddly placed full length intercooler on the top of the engine and bonnet is cut to let air at it, it looks ugly, and to really get air into it its going to need a scoop... any ideas??

Get some pics up here of what you're talking about.

It sounds a bit odd. I wonder whether its had an engine change or some engine performance mods and the fitter wasn't sure what to put where.

nesponge, that looks perfect, bar the fact that that the intercooler is sitting a lot farther foreward, but i could use this as a basis for a design, and make one up in fibreglass. Mundungus: i will but it'll be tuesday before ill be able to, to the best of my knowledge it has not had an engine change but with the age anything is possible :) will get the pictures up asap :)

well that was a colossal wast of time!!.... went to collect the defender today (the owner had to do some work on it before i would take it away) took it for a final test drive, came back to find the coolant tank empty, and a lovely trail of it running behind me, a leak in the water pump housing. The chap reassured me he would have it fixed in an hour, so i gave him a chance to fix it (while keeping a very close eye) took it for another drive and drove the arse out of it, 5th gear starts making a loud vibrating whine when load is taken off it but its left in gear, and eventually on the way back there was hardly any power left to keep it in 5th. brought it back, said thanks but no thanks, ill be having my deposit back now. :(

...Knew it was too good to be true....
