Evening all,

My Disco has a distinct lean to the OS without a driver. It's about 2" lower than the NS. Measured numerous times on numerous level surfaces.

It started a few months ago with old +2" Pro Comp Springs (Britpart?) on the front and new +2" Medium Terrafirmas on the rear. Binned the Pro Comps and fitted +2" Medium Terrafirmas on the front.

Sill leaned. Did a lot of research to see if they were handed. Terrafirma ignored two of my emails - very nice of you (I will not be recommending you to my worst enemy). I contacted three of their suppliers, RST Landrovers and Ribble Valley 4x4 Ltd said they are not handed and Adventure 4x4 said they are. Nice to see the info is consistent.

Swapped the springs today (only 2 or 3mm difference in height) and they still lean!!

I've checked the axle mounts and they are solid and straight as are the top mounts on the chassis.

Any input from guys would be much appreciated - positive, negative or sarcastic. :p

Its a 300TDi fitted with a 2.8 TGV, Winch Bumper but no Winch, A Bar, Steering Guard, Tank Guard, 2nd battery and HD Rear bumper. It has lots of other mods but nothing that would add much to the weight.

To add insult to injury - I've just nipped to the tip and as I turned into the drive the header tank split and pumped water and steam everywhere!!:eek:

just had same with mine...

arb mount of front o/side had bent pretty much flat and the arb was pullin the body down on that side..

took a lump hammer to it and straightened it.. car level again...

worth havin a look...

how are the shocks.... i bought a steering damper, terrafirma , and within a year its fooked.... just a thought , have you got a dodgy shock, or shockers.... i know the spring takes all the weight but worth alook.

Hi 1spin,

The rears are Terrafima +5" fitted a year ago. The fronts are the same type fitted new with the front springs a few weeks ago. Swapped sides today.

Kinda defies logic doesn't it!!!

other than dodgy springs then its a weird one..... get some weight on the otherside,

I need to feed the missus some pies. :behindsofa:

dont look at it..

The catch is I've seen it now and can't see anything else.

:D:D:D have you got flat tyres.......

:p:p:p No but I will check the pressures tomorrow. It's on 315/70/17 so the side wall is very deep.

Thanks for all of the help so far lads and lasses. :5bcheers2:

Hi all, reading these posts have actually made me join. (I have been a watcher up until now)
I had a very similar problem with my wifes disco about 3 weeks ago, I upgraded (not the correct term when refering to "terrable firma") the springs and shocks and wanted a small lift, after ending up with a "wonkey" car, spoke to terrafirma to check specs and they were as much use as a chocolate tea pot and rude so sent them back. Now back with the orginal springs for a while but looking a Old man emu.
Anyway I have since found out from a friend of a friend who works in a powder coating shop that he spends about 2 days a week unpacking britpart boxes recoating the springs and packing them into terrable firm boxes! and they also somtimes repaint procomp shocks. Very worring!

I am going to try and start posting more, sorry about the spelling

That's terrible! But it could explain a few things. :(

I agree, TERRAFIRMA ARE SH1T! They don't know their ar5e from their elbow and they will certainly never give you a straight answer.:mad::mad::mad:

Are they a progresive spring and have you got them all the same way up ie the tighter part of the coil at the bottom
