Your all Banned except me
Just fitted me new starter motor on me V8. its a new model for the older stryle one.

I have connected the wires to the terminals bu thave one left over with nowhere to go. Its yella wiv a push tag on it. The engine starts fine but I have noticed the battery light is now perm on while the engine is running.

Where should this spare wire go????

One terminal should have the big fat one from the battery on it and two brown 'uns, one to the L+ terminal on the alternator (I suspect that this is the one not connected) & one to the fuse box taking power off to elsewhere. The other should have a white with a red tracer going to the ignition switch.

How many wires/terminals/colours have you got?

Two big fat uns to screw to the starter and two push thingys. one push thingy is bigger then the other (Red one) the yella one is smaller and it dunt fit anywhere.

Did yer old starter have a double terminal to allow both female connectors to fix to it? If so, just crimp/solder on a new connector with both wires in it. Both of those small un's should come off of the same terminal as the one from the battery..............though the actual join between the fat one & the small one may be inside the cover of the solenoid.

Got a flash on yer camera?

Yes th old un had two female sliddy things that these were on. so they should all be on the same one then?
.

What one female thing (FFS!) coming out of each side of the big terminal frum the battery?

Any how Floppy do yer reckon one of these would work as a timer for my heater plugs?

. Interior light timer. Leaves the interior light on for 10 seconds after the door has closed. Ref:GLR1. £6.89

on here

VWP relays

wot yu need to know is....

1) wots the current consumption of the heater plugs? (fuse rating?)
2) wot current can the timer handle - its only meant fur interior lights (5w = 1/2Amp)!

else yu might need to use the timer to switch anuffer relay.

wots the squirkit of the heaters?
aren't yo heaters switched anyway?
wudnt a switch and big light be easier?
