I have a nut leftover

Hi all,

I've not long got my first LR. Already I'm falling out with the damn thing.
Just seems to be one thing after another, only owned it for a week and it's now back with the dealer getting sorted out.

We're supposed to be going down to Cornwall for the week on saturday with the caravan. So we were going to go to the storage place this morning to pick up the caravan and take it for a wash and a clean out. We only got 100 yds from our front door when we heard a "clunk" (felt like it was coming from down by my feet somwhere), then the engine cut out.
Tried re-starting it, engine turned over but wouldn't fire and noticed that the glow-plug light wasn't illuminating on the dash.
Since I test drove it, it's made a whirring noise that vibrates through the car when in P or any other gear when going slow (5MPH), or idling. Being a newbie to LR's I just thought this was the noise they made, but now I'm wondering if this had somthing to do with it.

Also; sunroof leaks, air con doesn't blow cold.

I too have owned faithfull Volvos for some years now, and now considering an XC70.
The disco is getting one more chance. One more fault and I'll be getting my 11K back.

won't it be a shame if there's one less shed on wheels heading down this way to clog up the roads and **** off the locals?

Hopefully you will get the problems fixed and it will run fine from then on. Most are very reliable.

I've had two Volvo's too, both had terrible problems with the engine cutting out randomly at junctions, no garage was able to diagnose / fix it, just charged me a fortune for new parts each time! At least LR parts are dirt cheap!

If there are no leaks, the air con blows absolutely ice cold.

I'm much happier with it now, confidence has been restored. I'd have replied sooner but didn't have time.
I got the Disco' back later the same day, following the little drama. Turned out part of the wiring loom fell of one of the injectors.
Had no probs since. It got us down to Pentewen and back with the shed just fine.
I dropped it off at the car sales place wot I did got it from yesterday, so they could sort the rear s/roof water leak.
I'm just a little paranoid that I'm going to get it back with oily manky marks all over the probably now mangled headlining and seats.

One thing that p1sses me of though is the horrid T-reg semi-convertable Gaylander that's on my drive,(loan car from garage).
Sounds like the engines going to drop out of the fcuker, rattle-rattle-clunk-rattle. Oh and the dash would put the Blackpool illuminations to shame, that many warning lights on.
