Well i was in and out all day no issues with the disco, pulls in has a cupper then proceed t try and go …. she's got other ideas it continued to do the below for 30 min's until finally i said right scrap it and she fired, now previously to this i had wiggled every bloody wire hit every moving part with a hammer and nothing even put a live straight to the stop solenoid.

now it has a quirk it likes no fire and cut straight out it will do the randomly no set pattern like hot or cold or wet just when it feels like it, a few attempts ignition of back on etc and it fires and is fine.

Now i have narrowed it down to if you watch all the lights on the dash go out if the Check engine light blinks i.e. is on to start goes of for 1 second the re-illuminates its not going to start no matter ho much you try.

So since i haven't got test equipment from Beamish museum any ideas ?

It also has funny turns sometimes were its as if the ignition is flicked on and off and when cruising at 80 sometimes the Check light comes on and it will back of the power don't know if its related just thought i would mention it

still haven't checked for that ac part yet, sorry,

Same here, though don't know if it's speed or revs, usually splutters at 2.5 rev or mid seventies! Drop the revs and normal service is resumed

I think its ignition barrel related in some respects as you say wiggle the barrel and the check light will come on and it will cut out but the ignition doesn't actually go off maybe the barrel is different with it not having a immobiliser that they have added a secondary separate ignition live to the barrel to feed the immobiliser side of the EDC ECU and the fact if the Check engine light remains on when your trying to start means its immobilised ?

Can anyone confirm this with a UK spec EDC if you try to start with the key that hasn't got a chip does the Check engine light stay on when you try to start or if you try to start it straight up with out letting the any lights extinguish i.e. like a petrol does it fire and then cut out ?
 
Oh and by the way i have done the resistor MOD for what its worth, doesn't seam to do out really if you turn it right down it just misfires, don't get any of this smoke people talk of ! yes the EGR is totally removed and a full straight through exhaust no boxes at all.
