Well today I finally got finished with putting my refurbished heads back on and getting it all back together.

It wasn't without drama, had a head bolt go yesterday evening when doing it up. It was number 18 of the 20, so it's not like it was my first go. Off came the head again, new gasket and bolts as foc replacements.

Anyway, got it all back together over the course of the day and this evening. Took a few turns of the engine, then it fired up, much to my surprise :D

I'll give it a good look over tomorrow and see if it's cured the water use problem. If not it'll be a cracked block :( as all the liners were where they should be.

Nothing better than hearing her fire up for the first time after a rebuild is their!!! Deffo one of the better feelings owning a landy!! Lol

Nope no pics sorry, was too engrossed in getting it back together.

It was a nervous 20 seconds or so waiting for the petrol to reach the injectors, but it was ace hearing it start.

The last time I did this was rebuilding my mgb gt, 20 years ago. Wish that had been a V8.

Cool, mine was a 1973, one of the last chrome bumpers. Took it right back to a bare shell, before rebuilding it, including the engine.

Unfortunately, despite it being a miracle that it got back together and turned over, am now stuck with the dilema of what to do, as it still has white mist coming from the exhaust.

I guess it'll be engine out and top hat liners, but not sure if I can be arsed tbh. I love the car but this is a pain, luckily I kept my van so I still have wheels.
