Good evening all,I am a landy lover owned about 8 now and its been my dream car all my life.
Shall now join in with the forum but I am no expert and pay for all repairs.
A strange thing happen to me tonight,my wife noticed a Do you want to sell this land rover ,with a number and email address.
I have tracked the guy down to this forum although he's only posted 6 times.
I have phoned him asking him what he was doing on my property and he was aggressive.
Having been asked my times by travellers if I want to sell my landy I am a little worried he was casing my home so to speak. Is this normal practice to have ready made laminated sheets ready to put on vehicles?
Sorry my first post is so negative.

typical of scrap collectors round here, tho they dont use laminated stuff, and if its liftable there and then, its gone.
usually its just a mobile number, no email address.

mate had same issue with pikeys wanting to buy their caravan when they kept it
on the drive.
one of the pikey's comes back at about the same time every year and politely asks
if their ready to sell! (he's quite amicable tho, accepts no for an answer, but appears again 12 months later trying again. 3 times now...)

If he really is a member of this forum, name and shame the bugger.

Do you have a way of tracing mobiles or Emails to mobiles?.they get them with false identities.
I'm wary of anyone that doesn't leave a land line.Check their work vans out nowadays all sign written and everything, really look the part but no land line numbers.

Whats wrong with no landline number for vans these days, especially with small businesses trying to keep costs down, one of the first things to go is a landline where there is never anyone to answer it anyway cos they're out working.
With line rental for business increasing, and usually at least 20% more than residential if your not VAT registered I don't see it as being an issue. I know at least 5 small tradesmen round here that have got rid, and I'm thinking of it too, I am costing up one of those "fake landlines" though that forward to you're mobile

He's a member on here,so I'd rather not show my where a bouts on here for the moment as he'll know which house has posted this.I have just order a ARDCASE arriving tomorrow, trailer is back down the side of the house and my pride and joy chained to it front to front and padlocked the five bar gate.
I've read his post and most about anyone want to sell their landy, could be genuine but I get asked by the traveller a lot do you want to sell.

I haven't had a land line for a few years now. Never in during the day, rarely in at weekends, found I was paying for something that never got used. I know plenty of others doing the same. With a 3G dongle for the laptop, what do I need a landline for? Not sure this makes me someone to be wary of.

Agreed,I run my business with just a mobile number and have done for many years, pretty normal nowadays.
