I got a quote off the local garage to do the mot and fix two holes behind my rear shock mounts only to find another before I took it in. I took the plunge, brought a mig welder put back the date of my mot a few weeks and started teaching myself to weld using YouTube and advice off a mates dad.
Got to a point I was happy to have a crack at the 3 (which turned into 11) holes in my chassis. Cut back to good metal in all of the places with holes and went about patching them up. It's saved me an absolute fortune and the welder has already paid for itself twice over in saved labour costs!!! So chuffed I managed to do it by myself and feel I can have a go and succeed in doing some more complicated bit. Had the mot today and the old girl passed with no advisories!!
