Hi All,
I am having a problem with my 1998 Tdi Discovery when driving up a hill and I am in 3 or 4th from about 2500 revs it feels like I have fuel starvation and then it's fine when I change up until I get to about 2500 again , the only thing I have had done on the fuel system recently is a fuel lift pump (and the pipes are on the correct way) and a full service that included sorting the fuel filter out can any of you guys help by giving me any other things that can cause this sort of problem.

Many thanks,

Trevor.

I hope not does any one else have any suggestion's, if it was the turbo would it not do it in all gears not just 3 up.

i had a very similar problem, mine was EGR valve sticking open combined with a collapsing turbo hose. Binned the whole EGR setup and bought shiny pipes and silicone hosing from darton fabrications. Just got back from 2 weeks in cornwall did 1500 miles and disco didnt miss a beat (apart from crawling up some of the long hills on the A30 lol).

Previous to me fixing this the disco would only rev to around 2500 RPM in 4th and 5th, now it will sit at 60 with the the caravan on the back no probs and easily tops a ton on erm a very long private road when not towing ;)
