Well what do you know I did it I am not so tech illiterate after all:p thank you Ndoge

Had a knock a few years ago couldnt find any play anywhere, passed its NCT, turned out to be the top shock mount. Changed the mount problem solved, even unloaded there was no discernable play in the mount.

Also of note part from L/R was cheaper than anywhere else ............

on yours do you get a knocking and what feels like engine/wheel vibration ?

No. I just get an audible creak on bumps or large suspension movements. On a smooth road it's perfectly silent.
I've replaced everything and the noise is still there.
I'll see the the MOT tester flags up anything later on.

Best of luck with that
I'm hoping the MOT tester doesn't have a good sense of smell. I'm sure there's a fuel leak from the HP pump as I can smell a faint whiff of diesel, although not bad enough to drip fuel.

That sounds like dry rubber rubbing against metal to me. Problem with sounds like this is they echo oft the ground if yer parked ont hard surface. Park it on a soft surface like grass and yer won't get an echo. Yer might then have a betterer chance to judging the direction the noise is coming from. Be careful it dun't sink when yer under it.

Strange yer should say that as that was what I was thinking. Yer can spay them with a penetrating fluid to see if the squeek goes away. Only put it on one at a time. Let it soak in a bit and see if it goes away.

Mine only started making the same sound after I replaced all the front suspension rubbers. I've yet to identify where the noise comes from, but from the inside, it's a definite creak.
