real inspiring of them to put in maximum advert effort presentation having 1 picture showing dirty paint work..

That is shocking!

I even went to the dealers website to see if there were more pics.. Just that same one :scratching_chin::doh:

Pathetic ad. But a good one to point out to the missus as an excuse to hang on to my p38. Will be worth a fortune in years to come! (Ok maybe...)

A sound investment for a very rare edition but what plonkers for not putting up more pics, probably got a L322 upgrade front end

Need more photos.....a true Linley worth that cash should shine....only a handful were ever made...not many still around...Released in 1999 with a price tag of £96,995 or thereabouts originally only 10 to be built, in the end only 6 ever were....

EDIT: Just read his ad....he has obviously read the same book as me....James Taylor - Range Rover, The Second Generation.

Does it come with car mats and a full tank of fuel ?
These things need to be in the description, they are important ! :D

How can he expect to sell a 20k car with just a picture of its badge?
It say nothing about the condition of the rest of the car..in fact if I were interested in it just a picture of a (in light that hes asking 20k) scabby badge would put me off
And if someomes spent an extra 20 grand on the engine a little more info would be nice
Cant see it being possable to put 20 grand into the standerd 4.6 and I dont think the 4.6 would take a bore out to 5l anyway, so must be a differant engine right?

No, nor would I. But if you were looking at spunking 20k on engine work why not replace, if so could it be be a small block out of an Overfinch, making it an all together different RR.
Not quite original, but having far more reliability than most.
Just a thought.

lets be honest- if you were in a position to spend 20k on a used range rover, ie wanting comfort- youd be a totsl fool to buy a p38 for 20k regardless of the engine or trim level
, you could buy both a rr sport and a lr22 for 20k probably

Only person that would by that is a collector and forgive me if im wrong but the p38s not and probably never will be a collectors item

They change the crank to make the stroke longer to get them up to 5ltr. Same as the 4.2 and 4.6. All have the same size bore as 3.9.

Lets face it, if you have a car thats as rare as this , your not gona go off road in it so why not spend the 20grand on a used jag or merc or even a cheep Bentley
By far better spec and build than any p38

In my eyes, it would be worth 20k if it were an original Linley.

The fact it has a non standard engine, regardless of how good it is, now doesnt make it an original Linley and as such is worth no where near as much.

Only an original unmolested Linley would be worth top dollar!!

What is so special about the Linley edition? I mean £96000 was/is a lot of money for a new P38 back in 2000...

I've just been looking at pictures of Linley's on tinternet and the interior is amazing. Hmmm wonder if I can be arsed to replace my interior with black and get all the wood sprayed piano black.
