Hi everyone. Now the name of name of the thread makes you feel like someone's doctor about to see some funny looking genitalia but sorry to disappoint you.

As you can see in the photos I've been underneath the defender trying to sort the leaks out and came across this. Now it's a screwed thread and was wondering if something was missing out of it?

Hiya,

Look up wading plug, depending on engine you may have one on the timing case at the front as well.

Cheers

The threaded hole is supposed to be there. There is an extra hole that someone has drilled at the end of the bell housing is not.

I had the same panic Mate when I first got my Defender.

I was just wondering the same thing - it would seem you have 1 intended superfluous hole (the threaded one), and one unintended superfluous hole - I wonder what someone was up to with that?!

I haven't got the foggiest. I'll have to delve deeper.
