Guys I know door alignment is an age old issue but is this normal or more sinister. My passenger door has always been out. Bottom seems not bad but top almost touches rear pillar. Always thought it was because dooors were tired but went to finally fit nice new 2 piece Doors today. Started with the bottom sinve on my own. Got it roughly on and not too bad. Added door top and exact same. Actually touching rear pillar. Hinges seem to have nowhere near enough play to adjust. Would this be the bulkhead or something else? All new stuff going on yet fit is same as old door....not bad lower door but top waaay too snug to rear pillar. Actually touching..

Just weird to me that door bottom sits well, door top seems to have an even gap up windscreen but back of door top is sloped to point where it touches rear pillar, even though the pillar is straight.

Got to be honest...I'm becoming a little dispondent with this thing. Every simple job turns into days of work. Have barely spent any time with my kids since I brought it home!

Welcome to landrover owner ship :D

I have exactly the same problem on my series III and even tries trying to moved the rear side panel back a couple of mm but it made no difference.

Hi mate bottom of bulkhead where your outriggers are there's a long bolt with a nut n washer on each end m180 bolt, also the bulkhead is fastened through the floor to the plate that bolts to the chassis leg and this should have shims behind it to adjust your bulkhead to suit, I know about this as me and aaron morris spent all day yesterday getting mine to line up!

cheers lee

Lee mate thanks! Any chance I could push my luck and ask for ampic? If not no worries...thanks for the heads up. I will have a look in morning so suss it out. Noticed its not actually lined up on front at windscreen either is I am thinking bottom front needs to come in a bit which looks like that's the bulkhead. It needs sorted as is actually removing the paint from rear pillar at top corner!.

Ahh driving me crazy this. Have passenger door tied shut as no point in putting new latch on until its aligned.

On a hi cap...can the rear bulkhead be adjusted?

Well success finally arrived.

I was putting hinges on the same way they had been on. Assuming it was correct.

Looked closely at a few pics of hinges fitted on mine...then noticed mine were opposite to every PIC I spotted.

Reversed\switched them and hey presto....fitting well. Not perfect but as good as any other I have seen.

At last!

Excellent well done. Now get your kids some overalls and give them a spanner. Many hours of fun to be had together. :)
