just bought a series 3 diesel 2.25 n/a 109"

wots wrong with it :

no mot
door tops f*cked
windscreen wipers nakerd
gearsticks a bit floppy in neutral.

wots right :

reconditioned engine
no gearbox clunks
new seats
re wired
no rust ( exept door tops )

i paid 200 quid . i reckon a pretty good deal
wot do ya reckon

well if you got a chassis with no rust and a good engine then 200 aint bad in my book. of course i know very little about the 109 but to know you have a solid engine and chassis has gotta be worth it aint it?

a coulple of quid

gearsticks a bit floppy in neutral.
They all do that its the way it was designed.

wots right :

reconditioned engine
good if done right

no gearbox clunks
i would change the oil and have a good look at the old oil.

new seats
about £100 worth

re wired
Asking for trouble if not done right.

no rust ( exept door tops )
that you have found yet.

Get under with a small hammer and a small screwdriver and give her a good banging and poking (Oooer ).



The big question is why was it sold so cheep? and whats wrong with it?

the recon was a bloody expensive one
the chassis is sound i got under and banged it then waxyoild it
all the rewiring was done by a proper auto electrician .

its so cheap cos the blokes ni on broke , its only costin him money , hes a mate , and i looked after his dog while hes on holiday.

i am well chuffed
