Hi again, another question!

I did some light off roading last weekend and didn't get a chance to wash the truck down after. The mud has dried over the week which has made it handy to spot oil leaks etc (not an ideal way to spot them i know!).

I was just under the truck (going from under the drivers door) and looking up at the sump etc.

I spotted a hole aiming directly downwards just behind the belt pulley at the front of the engineImmediately behind the rad (pic below). It felt as if it could be threaded inside, but hard to tell. And looked like fresh oil around it, but when checking engine oil, the level hasn't reduced.

So 2 questions.... 1) is there supposed to be a plug/bung/screw in there? And 2) and, if so, any ideas on part numbers please?

All thoughts gratefully received!
Thanks

That’s your wading plug. Leave it open unless wading in deep water.

Oil shouldn’t leak out of it though, likely culprit is crankshaft oil seal I would have thought

Thanks Flat, that's good to know. Not planning on wading and oil could be from an overheat last Sunday (the thermostat packed up). I need to give the whole engine a clean up so will keep an eye on whether any more oil appears there after.

Thanks again
