Serviced the wagon a few days ago and renewed the points, condensor coil etc. Timed the ignition by ear and on checking with strobe it's between 6 and 3 degrees btdc. Left the vehicle running whilst checking the lights and electrics as the mot needs doing. Vehicle started to sound lumpy to say the least. This was after about 15 mins of sitting at warm. Revving the engine it virtually dies and sounds throaty. Short while later it got worse then died. Then ran on for a few seconds. Wouldn't re start til it had cooled right down. When I restarted the same happened. I can't see anything visible with the manifold like a crack, but the bolts look like they'd snap if I tried to get em off. Any easy way of testing? Or any other suggestions? Cheers.
It's a swb 2.25 petrol. Didn't over heat and when I checked the timing it was still as I set it.
