As I was dropping the wife off at work this morning something wasn't right with my clutch.
It seems to have hardly any resistance for 3 quarters of the pedal travel and after pushing the pedal all the way down it only lifts back up about a quarter of the way back before it struggles to push itself the rest of the way.
It does go in and out of gear ok.
It my clutch knackered or could be something else?

Might be the master cylinder or it could be the dreaded 'problem' - the pin going through the arm - part is only about £20 for the HD one, the big issue is its gearbox out to sort it. Oh, an don't buy Britpart!!

I had the same problem 2 months back, slave cylinder changed, was a bit better for a week, then it went a little stiff and the biting point is on the floor! So I changed the master cylinder, still have the problem.

You can drive it but it's a right pig, doesn't go into first or reverse and you gotta rev match the rest of the gears, start the engine in first clutch down, brakes off she moves off slowly! Bring clutch up by 5mm she's fully engaged!

I'm taking the engine out next weekend... Things don't look good!!!

Quick update, checked clutch fluid and it was empty, topped it up and bled the clutch, the biting point is further up and the pedal springs back up like it should do.
I will have to keep my eye on it to see if it's leaking and find out where its leaking from.

Have you checked the back of the pedal? If it's sticky chances are you have a leaking master cylinder.

If it's the slave it's not much of a problem to replace.
