if you are going to do it as an original it will cost you more, as an ordinary disco you can fabricate your own bits etc, but a lot of work to do them, also the cost if you have to pay somebody, sell it!!!!, wash the **** off it first and then people wouldn't know it has been used for a tractor/dos mobile

Why would a 50th Deafener be worth saving more than a 50th Discovery? Think you miss the point, a 50th is a 50th, a Discovery is far better than a Deafner :p

Have owned a 50th defender among others TD TDI td5. Very special v8 nas style that you just couldnt buy in that era otherwise. Pity it wasn't 4.6 tho. Rare and valuable.
Currently a rrc owner dear boy, so a cut above you disco apologists :p

I apologise for nothing, I chose a Disco above a RRC as "been there, done that" and a good few times with 3.5s and 3.9s and last RRC was fitted out with a 4.6 THL block and some rather interesting head work had been done to help it along, now that was rather quick!!!

Discovery selected over a Deafener as I want comfort in the cab, I simply cannot get comfortable in a Deafner and they just have no appeal for me. Granted, a great many guys buy a Disco as they can't afford a Deafner, I wanted and bought the right vehicle for me.

As far as the argument for saving Vs scrapping, personal vehicle choices aside, I see very little point in just scrapping any vehicle, all problems can be fixed, tons of parts available for it, and it is a special limited edition, all boxes ticked, get your grinder and welder to the ready.

Point taken, you'd prefer a rrc to have extra weight up top, more overhang and body roll ;)

More overhang :confused::confused::confused: Can't find it but Disco is not any longer than a RRC and certainy the LSE variant is longer still ;)

Top heavy, body roll. Erm, not by much and my first RRC wallowed like a pig in a mud pit in any sort of cornering, not really seeing this with my current 200Tdi and certainly not with the last Disco which was a 3.9 auto and driven enthusiastically everytime we went out in it.

I am floundering here with finding your argument validity, apart from, you have your opinion which says scrap it, then again, think you'd say that if the 2014 MY L405 got a puncture too :rolleyes:
 
Point is land rover have rolled out loads of not really special editions. What was special about this one? Bonny paint and a plaque. If they had fitted a 4.6 and uprated springs, it would be something special.

If it were a csk, a Holland and Holland, or a defender 50th to name but a few it would be worth saving.
