The D1 left the factory with four different engines, two diesel and two petrol, which do you have?😊

Good question Discool. It left with a diesel engine (as the rad is still TDi) but currently has a 3.9 V8 EFi.

It is running an upgraded PSC Motorsports power steering system, which might be causing it Marjon, good call!

Full blown twin, batt setup on the car, and until the belt pinged off, the batts were both seeing 14.1V. 12.7V with the engine off.

The torque converter won't let the engine stall, and I don't see your alternator contributing to your problem.
I'd be examining the power steering pump seeing as its an aftermarket system, and checking the pressure relief valve. Can you take the belt off and test for stalling then?
Is your idle stabilisation valve working correctly? Unless the throttle butterfly and throttle position sensor are set up, it won't hold a solid idle.

I think that is a good call Rangieman. It is an aftermarket steering setup from PSC.

Idle is fine unless either side hard lock is used.
