Hi guys! I did put brand new winter tyres on my LR. The abs, TC and hdc lights used to come on sometimes and would stay on. Today after fitting my new tyres I missed them? Could the old tyres have caused for the lights to come on now and then? Could that be it?

Right, all I would like to know is if the tyres could be a reason! Or do I need to be more worried if there is a problem with the bulb not working at the moment? We actually thought it was a wire problem because we got everything else checked. I don't know weather to check further or just to be happy they are off!

hi, was the old tyres same size? if some tyre wasnt same size than other 3 tyres, could that be the reason for lights?

My other half bought second hand tyres all the time. So they all were same size but front and back were different worn down. I am actually thinking of getting 4 new summer tyres aswell if that's the cause lol am not a fan of second hand tyres so I went to get new ones for the winter. Better save than sorry afterwards :) seems to pay out :)

Hi tyre choice is crucial on the freelander mismatched tyres will kill the drivetrain  so fit 4 all the same make/model/size summer or winter !

Does yer hdc, tc... lights come on during the test bit when yer first turns on the lectric using the ignition?

The lights came on when you lost grip. Now with new tyres you have good grip ,so no need for tc to do its job.

Yes, they do. We had a set back. They came on again during rain. But when dry they stay off. The back brake seem to be stuck first thing in the morning, which brings them on aswell. The brakes got checked through about 5 times now and work fine, no sticking in the morning, for a few days, then it starts again. Am going to fit new hubs soon. Maybe that'll help, although the mechanic says the breaks are all fine.

if you visit in finland, come on and i show you all continentals what will fit :) in stock ;) oh, are those studless? and could it be the wheelbearings fault? 4 the abs and so on lights?

The bearings are fine. We had them changed. I think I might change the brake light switch next after looking at the 3 Amigos thread :) We replaced nearly everything to do with the drive train in the past few years. But hey, we love our LR :D What does studless mean? My english kind a leaves me hanging here

hmm, i mean spikes on tyres, studs. hmm. maybe in england you dont need them, here were i live, we need. try google continental ice contact 4x4
