Hi coolant temperature thingy - its on the on on the thermostat housing in the big brass hex with 2 terminals coming out.
My literature refers to this as both a temperature sensor AND a temperature switch - the first would imply a variable resistance and the second an on/off action. It currently reads open circuit i.e. infinite ohms. if it is a sensor then this indicated it is broken and could be the cause of my 10mpg!!
I live in Bulgaria and the Landi dealer wants 50quid to tell me if it is broken or not before he charged me another 50quid for a new one!!!
Can anyone help??
