its a 94 L reg 3 door, stupid questions maybe but i actually have no idea if its a 200 or a 300tdi? is there a quick way to tell????? cheers

Yes the 300 has a black plastic covver over the rocker cover etc and a single serpentine fan/alternator bellt the 200tdi has an Alloy rocker cover and 2 belts.

easy way to check is a 300tdi has the stereo in the normal place as opposed to the 200tdi which has the stereo down near the gear lever.

Doesn't help if it's a 200tdi that's had a 300TDi engine fitted or even a 300 that's had a 200 retro fitted.

easiest way to tell 200 from 300 is look at the oil dip sticks 200tdi is on the side of engine and 300tdi is at the front of engine
