Depends on mileage and condition etc, the engines can go from £350ish to £500ish, have a look on ebay? if you got the engine laying about and its doing you no good, £400 in the pocket wont hurt

Down to you, if the motors laying about gathering dust just sell it, no harm in asking the guy for abit more £400 does seem abit cheap for the whole lot but not out of this world cheap.

Start it high, get haggled down if selling

Or are you buying ? In which case take it if its low mileage and has plenty of shiny bits

Put the engine on eBay and offer postage. use Speedshift or similar to book a pallet courier - buy 2 dirt cheap ratchet straps from tool station to seucre the engine to the pallet, charge £75 for delivery. If it is a complete engine and you offer postage £500 should see it gone in a week or two.

You can do similar for the G/B and T/B - I sold mine cheaply to a local chap just cus i needed it gone, still got £100 cash for it - i believe you can get nearer £250 though.

£400 for the engine, gearbox and transfer box. Yes I'd say that was a pretty low offer.

When I was looking for a 300tdi engine on its own most wanted £400-£450 + the gearbox etc!

I agree. Too cheap. That price for engine alone. Gearbox about £100 and transfer same again.

Don't get ripped off. You have something people want there!
