can someone tell me,when replacing a td4 turbo you have to take out thefront subframe then the ird unit just to get to the turbo, and i remove the intercooler today and was what is the best way of flushing the oil out
It is easier to remove the front crossmember and ird to get the turbo out.
You need to steam clean the intercooler and if the turbo has failed then take all the pipe work out and steam clean them as well. If there are any particals left in the pipe work then it could cause the new turbo to fail.
LR call it the rear beam, its the what I think you have called front sub frame. If you down load the rave disk then it will give you all the info you need.
