hello

looking to fit new ird and diff so will need to refill the oils
can someone tell me what oils and amounts i will need
for all three

cheers dean

You need about 2 Litres for IRD, Its possible to get it loose from a private LR workshop if you take your own container, got mine from DOUGLASS Motors of WOLSTON near Coventry it's special synthetic fluid, don't use old oil or anything else. Diff oil is normal 90 gear oil I believe.

dont forget the oil should be changed at operating temperature and that yu can bugger the gearbox if you dont use the correct drain screw. Follow the Rave instructions.

For a manual its 75/90 for gearbox and IRD, obviously ATF for a Auto in gearbox

IRD holds 1.1litres 75/90 API GL5, Give car a run first to warm oil which aids draining
Rear Diff 0.9litre of 80/90 API GL5 No drain unless you remove cover and reseal

5-10 min drive in auto before change, make sure you have a funnell or tubing to fill autobox as its difficult to access filler

Make sure you can remove filler on IRD before you undo drain as they are very tight and you will need under cover removing

I reused the copper washers without any problems on IRD, I asked LR and they looked blank and said they never used them ??
