Good afternoon
I'm wanting to know if there's an easy solution or any to getting my iPhone connected thru my stereo in my 2002 Vogue. It has the sat Nav/tv head unit.
Any suggestions people??

Thanks
Steven

I believe you need to update the Bluetooth Unit in the boot area (IIRC) as the earlier units aren't compatible with the iPhone....

Thanks for that but where do I get from and how much?? Don't want to be spending too much otherwise I might as well just change the head unit..

Changing the head unit will lead you to a whole world of pain. Better to get rid of the Crapple and buy a decent phone.

I managed to make contact with an iphone 5 no problem.
If you have a iphone 4, it will be easier to upgrade that than the car!
best of luck

I went down the road of a parrot system, the company I use for the car kits told me they don't do a lead from the parrot to the head unit on the range rover I have.. Should I believe him or try elsewhere??

It's all here, with a bit of searching...

As I understand it, the key points are:

- your L322 may not have BT fitted (mine doesn'), in which case to get the OEM H/F stuff working will be very expensive as you will have to buy the L/R BT unit. If you are lucky, it may already have one fitted (look in the LHS of the boot, or just try searching for a BT connection I think called Land Rover from your phone).

- many people opt for the Parrot solution. The issue with this is how to connect it to the OEM system, you cannot use the usual speaker level connections due to the DSP amp. I have got differing answers from even certified parrot installers regarding how successfully the Parrot can be integrated - for example can the Parrot mute the stereo when a call comes in? If listening to music via the Parrot, will the sat nav voice still work??

Happy reading!

Cheers

I have a Parrot system in My L322....

Intergrates fine, Stereo Mutes, CDs Pause and the Sat Nav voice is still audible....

The Parrot uses the Stereos Speaker system and the Mic is mounted on the roof console next to the Sunroof Switch....

Hi Saint that is very interesting... so clearly it can be done!

Did you do the install yourself? If so, we urgently need another of the famous 'how to's :)

Cheers,

Jerry

Thinking about it a bit more, I guess it is just a case of

- finding a suitable line in for the OEM radio (BM54 I think)
- finding a 'telephone' control input for the BM54 also

I know the Parrot has a line out, and I presume it has a tele mute output too, even though in the majority of installations it won't be used.

Saint - if you want to listen to music via the Parrot eg by connecting an iPod, which input do you select on the OEM radio? Aux?

If that was the objective, I would just buy the intravee and have full ipod control from the OEM head unit!

The thing about the parrot is that if you can get one properly connected and integrated, you get

- bluetooth hands free
- bluetooth audio streaming
- ipod connectivity (although control via Parrot not OEM HU, so not as good as intravee)
- 3.5mm line in

... for around £100.

Was pre-installed when I bought - Sorry!!!

Errr as for the Iphone music thing...no idea, never tried and I don't think my Parrot is that clever!

The iPhone will work hands free with just the 3.5mm aux connected

When playing music through the iPod and you get a phone call it will mute the music allowing you to take the call

This sounds interesting, Im really missing the aux connector that I had in my old Focus, It used to work great as an hands free and a music player via the Iphone, is there a How to on how to splice the wire ?
