Intermittent coolant leak.

i can't seem to locate this coolant leak, sometimes its there sometimes not. when it is there it leaks 2ltrs of the bleeding stuff. it first seems to be from the rear of the engine, however this morning i saw a very fast drip from the front area of the engine. can anyone point me in the direction of common places to look? Im very limited on knowledge and this is my first land rover.

all help generously accepted.

Common - P gasket, look behind and slightly under the alternator.
Check the head to heater matrix hose where it connects to the head at the top towards the bulkhead. Also check the rad core itself, and the core plugs.

That link is a coolant diagram for the 200/300. I can see the direction of flow and where leaks might occur etc.

depends. but the red coloring under the alternator against the block will be very visible.

You can buy a dye colour from a motor factors, pop it in coolant and it will show up where leak is.
