Hi All,
Need help. D90 is intermittently breaking down, typically after gurgling noise from fuel pump on start up and dark smoke coming from exhaust on start up. Replaced fuel pump just over 2 years ago and seemed to work for 18 months. Have put new filter on it recently, fuel pressure gauge and cleaned injector seals. Advised by someone to replace fuel pump and filter again. Another person has told me I need new injector seals and housing. Anyone experience this issue and resolved it?

presumably you need to turn it over a few times before it fires,put a container under the fuel filter and undo the plug or sensor and switch ignition on, it should pour fuel out like a free flowing tap ,if it doesnt remove pump and check its screens
