Hi,
Does anyone know of anywhere you can still buy interior sun visors for a Series 3? I'm starting to think I'll have to try and make a pair, since ages searching online has returned no results (unless 'out of stock' is a result?)
My memory's crap at the best of times so I often find I'm minus sunglasses when the sun's in my eyes, but my 27 yr old's visors have seen better days...
Any help greatly appreciated.

have you thought of just re covering the ones youve got ( your chance to put yer personal mark on yer landy )

also have you got any pics as ive never heared of sun visors in a series before :D:D:D:D

I searched for some a few weeks back and couldn't find any (1981 series 3)
Mine were quite mouldy and smelly but not torn. I removed them and scrubbed them with some APC (all purpose cleaner) and left them in the airing cupboard a few days. They came up like new! I had to re oil them as the internal hinge mechanism became stiff after the washing.
Might be worth keeping an eye on landrovers being broken /scrap yards.
Perhaps they were common parts shared with other rover / BL models?

Get some out of another Landie and adapt them to fit

for example

FREELANDER 1 PAIR OF SUN VISORS MIRROR | eBay

thats just insane id never dream of putting something off a newer landy on me series ( i might take the p out of freelanders but in this instance this isnt the case ) i was however thinking a pair off an old austin mini might suit better or a visor peak for outside the windscreen would be better in my case

i guess im just a finnicky fekker :D:D:D

No visors on any of the series 3'sIII I've had. Can't see why you couldn't adapt ones from a vehicle of similar age.

Guess that's that then - yet another wee job to do mi'sen! 'Fraid these won't scrub up as the surface has rotted away, but they should re-cover ok. Hmmm, what to cover 'em with (instead of the cobwebs currently there...)

Don't have a pic. Not really something you'd normally look AT, just help you to look at the other nutters on the roads.

Some kind of waterproof vinyl I guess would be best. Never tried it but heat shrink vinyl might be worth looking into. As suggested, an alternative would be one of those cheeky looking sun shade peeks on the outside. Not sure how effect they are for shading the sun though when it's low in the sky in winter.
