The interior lights on my 90 TD5 2001. You can turn them on and off via the switch on the light itself, but when set in the door position they just stay on, even when the doors shut or the engine starts.
The door switches seems to be working.

Is there a relay that controls the on/off when the door is shut/engine on? the Haynes book just shows lots of wiring diagrams, but as far as i can see gives no answer.

Any help please.:)

The interior light is controlled by the AS10 alarm module. I didnt think mine had one fitted as it has no fob. However when I connected it up to my new nanocom there it was! In the nanocom menu there is a switch interior light on/off function. Simple enough you might think but I got myself into all sorts bother switching it off with the nanocom and then back on again, eventually managing to imobilise the engine.... a sweaty 40 minutes ensued!!!. To cut a long story short, I ended up being unable to turn mine off either once I had messed with it so I just left it switched off. Maybe sometime in the future when I feel a bit braver with the nanocom I might have another go. So it maybe that if the veh came with the fault someone has been playing........ it wasnt me!

Thanks for the reply

Does anyone have any idea how to reset it? And live anywhere near west sussex with a nanocom, i could burrow?

not sure if the light works the same was as 200tdi defenders - but it's switched ground, therefore i'd take a look at the switch and make sure some cables not caught or grounding after the switch - could be a long shot, but that's my only thoughts on it :)

i have a range rover with the same problem i cleared it by turning on ignition then holding the interior light button on till the message on the dash says interior lights set. hope this works on yours.

I had this in a 1990 110. It was caused by condensation earthing the unit and thus providing power. I cured it by fitting a thick piece of rubber between the light (which is fixed to the roof lining, and the roof. Fine now!
