He did but on next drive it again popped up with "check coolant". Which led to my " oh hell, did he put wrong stuff in? And " has it sludged".Still add more coolant? I thought it had been topped up??

It won't sludge, that's when anti freeze goes into the screen washHe did but on next drive it again popped up with "check coolant". Which led to my " oh hell, did he put wrong stuff in? And " has it sludged".
The 'other' site, the grown up one, says mixing the blue and the pink can cause sludging, and screw up the radiator. Hence worrying. It won't sludge, that's when anti freeze goes into the screen wash
Just spoke to my usual mechanic who is fixing aircon today. He reckons it should be ok as, AA agent uses highest grade stuff.Depends on what he used some can be mixed, Prestone do a "green" coolant that can go with most other colours, however if he has used mixed an IAT with OAT they you can get a sludging issue for want of a better description.
Getting it flushed with the correct coolant isn't too difficult however i'd look in to where the coolant is going, if you do indeed have a leak..
In that case you should be alright..Just spoke to my usual mechanic who is fixing aircon today. He reckons it should be ok as, AA agent uses highest grade stuff.
I wouldn't to be honest.Yaaaay bonnet cable fixed.
But going to throw an unrelated issue to the collective: can I spray WD40 into the CD player? It has decided it can't move far enough to catch the trays. Resulting in 'no CD' message. TIA

Thanks. Might give it a gentle blow ( @Mark Piercy,no young man no!) in situ. It's a massive job to get the unit out, and I don't have the time to have her off the road.I wouldn't to be honest.
Probably dust causing the issue and WD40 will turn it into a solid sludge.
I would open it up, blow it out with compressed air and if anything does need more cleaning use ipa.
For the avoidance of doubt, wont beer make it sticky?...lol couldnt resist...
