hi i have a disco 300tdi auto 99,was told a couple of days ago that cleaning my intercooler out will give me better economy and a few more horses to play with ive decatted and de egrd can i fit a td5 intercooler to her and will it make a difference

I don't know about a td5 one, but you an get bigger ones to fit yours. Think they may be expensive though. Have you cleaned yours yet? It made a big difference to mine and is really easy to do!

no i havent wouldnt have a clue on how to do it,i have noticed that theres a big oiley blob in bottom corner near the radiator

i read the same about the td5 intercoolers fitting into a 300tdi but when i asked the question on another forum i was told not to be stupid they wont fit??????????

av got a allisport one,that mite fit a 300.

It's an easy job. If you undo the bolts on the radiator top cover, undo the hoses and the intercooler just slides out. I used petrol to clean it and a lot of ****e came out, you might need to repeat it a couple of times.I just bunged one end up, quarter filled it with petrol and shook it up, then did it again. Clean the outside also. Made a right difference.

and make sure its 100% dry before re starting the car again, if its not the fumes will make the engine "runaway".........

i started mine with the hoses loose so it just blew it off again
