Hi there
I have just fitted a larger performance intercooler to my 2004 TD5 it now makes a hissing and sucking noise when you put your foot down I have also fitted the EGR
blanking plate, having done this it doesn't seem to have made much difference to the drive and now I am wondering if it was worth it in the fist place it seems just the same as before should I notice any difference:confused:I have been thinking about remapping it as I have gone this far already

a properly done re map is the most effective performance gain even without the intercooler change, once remapped your bigger intercooler should also come into play.
REF the hissing noise, make sure all the hose clips are tight, and hoses in good condition

Sounds like you've got a loose pipe clip somewhere and loosing pressure

IMO it's no room for remorse about the larger intercooler, even if you can't feel it's benefits in the throttle yet it's very important for the engine especially with a remap, as you said if you went so far go for a remap too then you'll realise that you didnt spend your money in vain
