Hi all, I have an Allisport intercooler on my 110 300tdi, can this be flushed in-situ? if so any pointers gladly recieved.
 
If it's the same as any other inter cooler, take it out and give it a guid sloshin' about;)

I know thats the best way but its huge n not sure if its a straight lift out,sits in front of the rad. Just thought i,d ask first.
 
Best to take it out
Im sure there are way you could do it but they are probably more hassle than taking it out.

Not sure about the 300tdi but on the TD5 the intercooler has to come out with the radiator as they cant be separated in situ.
 
I have a 300 tdi and just flushed the intercooler with brake clutch cleaner in situ with the pump sprayer from unipart seems to have worked a treat wouldnt say it was cleened out perfectly but well enough to notice a difference

Yes they can i removed my std cooler and fitted a large bugger without removing the rad, bloody tight though, its just im lazy:D

Er to be honest i cant remember but id fitted the large intercooler without opening the cooling system.
Then when i was going to sell the car i removed the large cooler and fitted the std one.
From memory i think i removed the viscous fan and shroud then i think i dropped the cooler in from the top, but this was 3 or 4 years ago.
I bet if you ask any of the cooler makers they know the quick ways to fit them.
