Well, it depends on your age, NCD - if any and what is a stupid quote.

I have been round quite a few to be honest, I can't remember them all but I've been with Sureterm (not impressed and will never return to them - they play the "we are just the broker" card too often and offer little help with a minor non-fault prang), Tesco, KwikFit, AA, Adrian Flux a couple of non-sequential years and currently, those are the ones I can remember.

I was with Lancaster for one year, but they made such a hash of the paperwork that I would no longer consider them.

When you are on the comparison sites (and you need to check more than just one such), make sure you are seeing all the quotes, not just the ones who are paying them; there will be a box to tick, or go further down the list - it varies.

There is no logic to the prices. You can get different prices for the same vehicle with the same underwriters, from different brokers. This year I made 20% saving by changing broker - but still with the same underwriter.

With a "specialist vehicle" such as a LR I would never even consider a mainstream comparison website.
99% of LR's have some kind of modification and as soon as you start mentioning that they don't want to know plus there are the different body styles etc.

The LR press is full of specialist insurers, I would give a couple of them ago as usually they don't worry about modifications (they need to know about and record them but they make no difference to the premium), give restricted mileages, agreed values etc etc etc.

Im with Adrian Flux, haven't had a renewal yet as its a new car to me so a policy swap, but they let me know it was about £280, which i was really pleased with. Its up soon so ill give them a call along with SKy insurance. I gather NFU give you good deals also on land rovers so ill test them too.
