Sureterm direct have always been cheapest ive found by a long way. Cant fault there 4x4 insurance cos u get greenlaning cover included etc.

im with sureteam for another car, but Flux quoted me £186 for the Disco TPFT - value £1700, 3k miles

just tried sureteam and the cheapest they would quote is £2120. 44, 0 NCD, 5k value and 10k PA. god knows why they want to know if i am a smoker or not, thats my choice :)

tried Admiral direct on their web page and got cover down to £1400. thats with LPG and declaring tinted rear windows.

looks like Admiral will be getting my vote this year :)

ok, so i am playing with different cars and figures with admiral, inputted a different car with no mods, all same details, but when it says "what is your cheapest quote so far" i put the figure they just gave me above. now its down to £1100!!!! WINNING!

thats the problem for me. i know for a fact i'll be well over that. i set mine at 10000. this will be our main car, not just a play thing.

I've been with Sureterm for a few years. Their underwriters have recently pulled out of the market though and £290 last year is £680 this year. It may still be the cheapest quote though as can't get near it elsewhere

Just renewed mine for 97 4.6 on LPG - Footman James renewal wanted £874, got 4 yrs No claims, 1 previous claim and just social domestic use. Called Adrain Flux and got it for £300 including a couple of mods, legal cover, breakdown, green laning and 17 days european travel, limited to 5k pa but I doubt I'll reach that with the price of fuel up here. Do probably have a 'safe' postcode as most couriers treat us non UK mainland even though last time I ventured south I didnt have to take a ferry or get my feet wet!

Mine is £560 5k miles FC 6 year protected ncb clean licence (god knows how). Im 28, 27 when took policy, parked on street, not greatest area. They cheapest for me. Everyone else wanted over a grand. Wouldnt be so bad but my misses can insure it for £900 FC and she 22. A lot of companies say high price due to occupation, gas engineer. But only insured as social only

Usually change company each year as they try to put premiums up each automatic renewell, currently with Enterprise Insurance Company PLC through Sureterm Direct 2000 4.6 autobiography insured for £6000 FC excess £450 no no-claims limited to 3000 miles per year as I have a works vehicle 6 points at time of taking out, 44 yo total price £205.79 @ £18 od per month A Quote and Lancaster wanted between 400 and 500

There's a hell of a difference between what people are paying. The range seems to start around £300 and rise to £3000 :eek:I don't really understand what makes the big difference in price. I know its not the NCB as 2 years ago I moved from elephant to admiral multi car (same company) and when they thought I hadn't provided evidence of my 5 years NCB Admiral sent out a letter saying my premium would go up by £35 - not exactly the 60% rise I would have expected. By the way I pay £1134 for 3 cars each on 15k miles per year. Covers me and the wife on all 3 vehicles.

I've now renewed my for £570 with mods and breakdown cover (thought id be wise in that department) windscreen cover also I'm 24 motor mechanic parked on street approx 5k pa 6yrs ncb clean license

time to re-live the hated insurance.

gave admiral a call today to get a realistic quote ;). spoke to a very helpful guy who went through every detail with me. now i asked a lot of questions and he gave me a lot of answers. so now i know that a 2002 4.6 with LPG, tinted windows and sports exhaust is coming in at £1650 with 0 NCB. if i change my address by 300m, it is 200 less!

according to this guy, it makes very little difference if it is parked on road, off road, garaged or in lock up. the main cost is your post code and area history of accidents and claims in that district.

all in all, a fair quote for myself as Flux wanted £800 more and a mandatory £750 excess, and were nowhere near as willing to answer my questions.

I found adrian flux the cheapest last year for me (a 19 year old on an L322) with 2 years no claims at 3.5k

Got my renewal through this week and that's dropped to 1.5k now with 3 years no claims
Over the moon it's more than halved in price !

Hippo, we must be bringing the average age of l322 ownership down! Who said young people have got to drive Fiestas!

yes ! indeed !

That was always my "never to do" - never have a small fiesta / corsa type boy racers car, so stereo typical ! - my first car was a freelander :p - lovely to be different :)

who says you got to be middle aged or retired to own a range lol

how old are you anyway ? :D
