10 weeks ago i had the misfortune of meeting a large tractor on a country lane, this meeting resulted in my 90 being a write off.
i reported the incident to my insurance company who then kindly offered me a loan car and then promptly retracted it because they were unsure of who was at fault.
the 90 was then taken away to a garage to be inspected by an engineer which took a week, then it took a further 3 weeks to get a figure from them, a measly 2750 less 400 excess, this was a 1990 vehicle in very good condition with a 200tdi put in to replace the turbo diesel if anyone can find a 200tdi 90 for this price in good condition let me know.
then when i said that this would not be enough they asked me to post examples of vehicles similar to mine, so i found examples on landyzone classifieds and on autotrader and posted them and waited a week ........nothing.
so i called them and they said it had not been recieved so they gave me a fax number so i faxed more examples and waited a week.........nothing .
i rang again "we have not recieved them, what number did you fax them to? .....oh i'll give you the number to the machine downstairs" so i fax again and call straight after "i'll go and have a look, i'll call you back in 5 mins" 90 mins later i call them "oh did blah not call you there on his desk now", so i wait a week.......nothing.
i call again "we are waiting to recieve a fax from you" i say no i got confirmation that it was recieved,so i fax again and a few days later i get a call saying they won't budge on there offer unless i can prove that it has been regularly serviced .
i service the vehicle myself so i have no dealer stamps, luckily the previous owner did so i have a pile of reciepts to send off,
has anyone else had this kind of trouble with insurance or am i just a poor sole that gets put at the bottom of the pile
and what kind of price would you put on a 1990 land rover 90 200tdi sw in good condition?
