yep had me visit from the nice man from vosa who stamped the chassis rail with the original number gave me the black n silver plates to go with it and had me sign and fill in the logbook while he was there as he had to send it through his head office to swansea to get it signed off :D:D
Excellent news.....well done :D

Excellent! I was starting feel this wasn't going to be a happy ending after all your work. Vosa are not always arseholes then - they give a reason why they rubber stamped or just a yes?

rubber stamp ?? i mean they punched the original number back into the chassis
and just said yes as all the investigations have been dealt with :):):)

Hi all. I am new to this forum but this question often comes up on the Series 2 club forum.

In a nutshell, phone the classic insurers and make sure you speak to someone with a pulse, ignore all online quote thingies - they can't cope.

I tried an online one once and got quoted £850 but when I phoned up, the quote became £80 fully comp for the year.:p

WTF? From Mr. Fux, who offer 'discounts for ...
Female Land Rover drivers ... Is that because most of 'em can't drive a Landy?
Limited Mileage How far should a Landy go before it breaks down??
Security Precautions Do I get a discount for wearing a condom?
Classic Land Rovers All Landies are classics!!

Definitely ring round - don't use comparison websites for anything non-standard or odd.

Go compare quoted me 9999.95 for my MX-6 cos its modified. After that all the other so called "competing" comparison sites some how get that information sent round and they all went up to about the same minus a few quid. After a frustrating few hours on the phone I got that down to 800 or so from Performance Direct. Not bad to say its down as chipped and modified and for business usage.

Landy similar story but ended up with Adrian Flux.

Also, might be worth trying NFU (Farmers Union) as they sometime do decent deals on older stuff. And I've been recommended Frank Pickles in the past too.

Glad you've got it passed as kosher by the DVLA!
