When I bought my first defender a couple of months back I insured it with Adrian Flux. The premium was just below £300, which I thought was reasonable. This week (for reasons outside this thread) the Landy had to go and I bought another. I phoned Adrian Flux to inform them of the vehicle change, and I expected a small fee for this. I was quoted £500 pound EXTRA for the change of vehicle. I asked the person on the other end to justify this. The only explanation she could offer was "well it is a bit newer". Needless to say I declined their offer.
I went to the website with the furry animals and got quotes from £200 upwards. I went with LV at £240 as this has lower excess and protected NCD. The vehicle by the way, was 2005 Defender TD5. This is not the first time I have been disappointed by Adrian Flux, they recently quoted me a frighteningly high premium for a Ford Focus. Strangely enough I ended up with LV on that one too for around one third of the price. Adrian Flux id definitely off my xmas list
