just done mine with adrian flux and its a 85' and needed classic insurance other companies wouldnt insure it.

alot of faffin about though with suspension mods and i had to fit a cat 1 alarm. NOT CHEAP!!
but with no claims it was 360.00 quid

Mines 18 years old and classed as a classic, lady said when its over 21 it will be even cheaper.

thing with classic insurance there generally caped mileage and restrictions so if its your daily driver doing thousands of miles a year it may be difficult to insure on a classic policy

my policy premium was kept down due to 3000 miles a year maximum

Yeah mine is 3000 miles a year but that suits me fine. Definately something worth considering though if you do a lot of miles.

Finally sorted! £200 fully comp with CO OP!!!! Will check out some of the other next year though as some seem quite competitive. Cheers guys

Going to have to give some of these a ring. Got my insurance renewal through today from Lancaster and it's gone from £186 to £681 !!!!!
Thats on a 2000 TD5 with full no claims and 4000 miles a year.
I was expecting a slight rise in price but this seems a bit steep to me.

Gosh:eek:

Looks like they've taken the same numbers from last year, and just arranged them in a different order!

Could have been £861 - maybe that's 2013's renewal figure:rolleyes:

Just given them a ring to see if they could do anything on the price and was told it was correct but they could knock around £10 off !!!
Didn't seem that interested in keeping me happy or my business.
Time to look elsewhere i think.

done mine on 16/2/2012 with adrian flux £186 TPFT with 3k limited mileage everyone else was 250+ on compare sites

Hi Buddy
I had some issues this year insuring my 110/ defender but Sureterm steered me to a cheap insurance policy - has limited miles but covers all mods and is fully com was under £200.

I also use Lancaster - £111 for a '93 defender with 3000 limited mileage. Was pleasantly surprised when my recent renewal was less than last year:)

Whenever I've asked for. Tpft quote it's been buttons less than fully comp, and i mean £20 less on a £300 policy, did you get a fully comp quote

When I got my renewal from Lancaster recently my premium had gone up from £200 to £380 ("we have scoured the universe for the best price for you" etc).
I went onto their website as a new customer and got a quote for £140! When I ran them to to check this they merely said, "But it's a different insurance company".
Go figure.
