Hi there,

Just renewed my insurance with Adrian flux, and they have sent some kinda from out with all the docs that they send.

It asks about the mods and asks who did them and what qualifications they have... I did em and I'm pretty sure my qualifications in aircraft maintenance won't suffice... Does it really matter? The only thing that worries me is that it says they reserve the right to have the vehicle inspected by an engineer of it's own choice and they will send the bill to me!

The form just asks for my signature, nothing from a garage..

Any one had this before and what did you do?

Ta!

This is for the guaranteed valuation that costs £5. I never did mine yet they keep sending me it each month .....

did you do all the mods or a garage,if i do work of such nature i usually have to send a headed letter explaing what was done ,not in any great detail, what have you done

i havent got an agreed valuation, but it could be.. they said i have to send a great list of paperwork back to them within 14 days!

yes i did the mods, no garage involved. should i get them to write a letter anyway then? id imagine they will want to inspect the engine and stuff aswel before they write it tho?

I had one of them last year but didn't have to complete one this year. I can't remember having to say who did each mod but I know that I ran out of room on the form and had to add another sheet of paper to be able to list all of the mods.

it just has loads of sections for areas for where the mods are, engine ect.... then asks what the mod is..

there is just a section at the end of 'additional info' which says 'by whom were the modifications completed' 'please state their qualifications if unknown state unknown' and when the date was..

I know what tha' means now

On mine I just put unknown \ previous owners as mine looks nothing like the logbook says it should look like.... And under the bonnet, logbook says 2.25 heavy oil, the fuel consumption and sound says 3.5v8 !!!!

When I took out the policy they said any modifications, my reply to them was tick all your boxes (steering, suspension, engine etc.....). The full premium came out as £135 fully comp and £5 to put wife on as named driver

haha hmmm... i dont wana put previous owner incase they ask for details! dont wana be lying!

If you did the mods yourself, put yourself
For qualifications put experienced home mechanic

Think about it, if it's passed the MOT then it's safe

When my insurance is due next year, I'll put mods done by me, and I'll put experienced home mechanic.... Nothing illegal about doing work or improvements to your own motor as long as it's safe to drive
